NRA increases match officials’ indemnities

The Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, has agreed to an increment in the indemnities of match officials in the Nigeria National League, NNL.

The president of the association, Alhaji Sani Zubairu, fulfilled his promise to the officials before the start of the 2023–24 NNL season.

The increment is targeted at protecting and securing the officials from any financial burden.

Zubairu called on referees at all levels of the game, to promote the good of the game while promoting the association in a positive light.

He also called on the referees to reciprocate the kind gestures of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, by giving fair and firm officiating.

SportsHP can recall that centre referee Abubakar Musa was cut from officiating in the NNL following charges of misconduct against him.
